With a background as an aviation safety officer and being a qualified crewmember of a complex aircraft, would that be helpful if attempting to get one of the jobs mentioned in the title?

The biggest mistake a lot of servicemen make when they get out of the service is not getting an degree or certification when they release from service, this was the same mistake have made myself. With your leadership in sailing along you can be a cruise ship captain my advise would be to use your school benefit before it run out, talk to the school counselor about an career and study on line while you work in your field and you should do this today and get the ball rolling.
Dear Kyle,
Within the aviation community, I think you have quite a few choices. Airlines have a very high demand for pilots. You might consider using the GI Bill to get your Air Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate, as well as an Aircraft Dispatcher certificate.
Federal positions might include Aviation Safety Inspector (see www.usajobs.gov/Search/?k=1825), where your 6 years served would count toward your ‘’service compensation date”, and potentially toward your pension.
Please feel free to contact me directly should you need more specific details.
Thank you for your service!
Sincerely,
Bob Jurasek

Hi Kyle. I can't answer your question but I do have a suggestion in your search.
Don't limit your search to Aviation. Expand to Public Transit Agencies (Trains, Commuters Trains and Subways, Bus, Shipping Ports.).
All these agencies have a need for trainers to train the trainers. Safety manuals written, and procedures written. Then when all that stuff is in place, Inspectors to ensure all the procedures are followed.
Best of luck in your search. Reach out to me on Linked in if you have further questions.
