I applied to usajobs.gov and it was very helpful. I was interviewed at VA Northport Medical Surgical Department. Veterans should try browsing the site.

David, I started looking at USA jobs this year, I don't have a lot of job search experience so started asking questions. I think they got tired of talking to me and I was able to accumulate a number of really good resources to help you thru the application process. Depends on the agency, but sometimes it takes a couple of months. For my current job from application to hiring it took almost 9 months.
Quite a few years ago...I helped my DAV step son obtain an interview and a job on the base at Ft Carson...it works.
