Hi, India!

I'm going to comment on your format, rather than specific content. For each position, you might want to start out with a brief overview of your goals in the job. At the end of the year, when you are having your performance appraisal, what are you being measured to have accomplished?

Then use bullet points to talk about what you achieved against those goals. Try to quantify them whenever possible. Think in terms of what you did in that position that was over and above what others would have done.

Neither the overview nor the bullets should have tasks listed, such as compiling monthly reports. Too detailed. By highlighting your accomplishments, rather than tasks, you will help set yourself apart.

If you have an actual resume, from which your profile was created, I'd be happy to give you more specific suggestions. You can email it to me at gbaccetti@hotmail.com. I can also send you a copy of my own resume so you can see an example.

Hope my suggestions are helpful!

Thank you all for the feedback I'm going to look at a temporary picture to add until I get a headshot done. I'll also work on adding my volunteer experience and my wording. Ronald I think you may be looking at someone else's LinkedIn profile I'm not wearing sunglasses in my profile picture.

Hi India, I agree w/ Mr. Cottell and Mr. Carvalho. Your profile is really strong. One small suggestion is to perhaps add any volunteer activities/organizations. Congratulations on your impressive achievements and thanks for your service. All my best, Jerry Brennan

Hello India --first off, congratulations on having some tremendous credentials and experience and on your upcoming degree, there is no doubt that you will be very successful in the civilian sector. I am going to suggest some changes to the top section of your LinkedIn profile to let it read better to the civilians reading it. Perhaps consider adapting your resume as well to this format.

1) Opening summary might read better like this
" Dynamic, high achieving Human Resources leader with a proven ability to drive results at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated ability to provide guidance and ensure compliance to all protocols and policies with a leadership style that is seen as fair, balanced and inclusive."
> Effective Situational Leadership- adept at using different leadership styles appropriate to the situation to get effective results
> Strong Project Management Skills - capable of driving multiple initiatives at once to successful conclusion
> Proficient Talent Developer -skilled at helping individuals achieve their optimal potential while providing the organization with succession planning guidance.
> Creative Problem Solving -able to think both strategically and practically to allow innovative solutions that are easy to implement.
> Budget Management -able to develop and manage all budgets within stated guidelines
2) I believe you have demonstrated all of these and they read much stronger than some of those that are listed. All the things you list are good, you just need to showcase your abilities a little differently.
3) Consider a different picture, your current one is a terrific military photo, but perhaps professional attire civilian clothes might better reflect your ability to integrate into the civilian sector. Also, consider a smile in the picture.
4) I'm fine with all the experience history listed as is--just the top I think needs change.
Just some thoughts to consider, again, you have tremendous credentials. Thank you for your service to our country and GOOD LUCK!
Best Regards, Mike

India,

Found your LinkedIn profile, recommend you add a picture ( no sunglasses). If using LinkedIn to enhance your career opportunities, recommend you emphasize what you can do for an organization and de-emphasize what you want from an organization.

Look up senior HR executives in some industries that attract you and see how their profiles are presented - incorporate into your page.

Best of luck, Ron Carvalho
