Does anyone know of any apprenticeship or internship programs for active military in order to help them transition out of the military?

This would allow an active soldier to get civilian experience while remaining on active duty.

The company I work for, Tech Qualled, allows a transitioning veteran to train for a career in B2B high-tech sales while still on active duty. The 9+ weeks of training is free to the veteran (valued at $12k) and ends in placing the veteran into their first civilian job. So, the veteran can do the training while still active duty, however, by the end, they would need to be available to start the new job within a few months after graduating the program. For example, we have a candidate who just graduated the program Nov 10th and is still on active duty with the Army. His terminal leave starts in early January. Anyone interested can learn more at www.qualled.com.

Actually, I am looking for more organizations to work with such as USSOCOM Care Coalition Wounded Warrior Program which allow active military to do an internships/apprenticeship. I am trying to figure out if there are other similar programs.

Maurice,
Your profile states you are a recruiter for Eli Lilly with 30 years experience, so I don't understand your desire to get an internship unless it's in an entirely different field.
First you want to focus on the field you are interested in and then seek out those opportunities.
There are many companies that want to recruit veterans, googling to find them is easy and there are of course many resources on this site.
Good luck,

Hello Maurice,

Thank you for your service. Check out any manufacturing associations in your state, they should be able to connect you to companies that offer apprenticeships/internships/job shadowing. If manufacturing isn't where you're headed, check out other state associations or chambers of commerce in the line of work you'd like to pursue. Also, connect with the career office of your local community college. They may have a representative that focuses on veterans affairs and can lead you in the right direction.

Good luck!

Farmers Insurance Group of Companies Agency Ownership Program allows a candidate to "earn as you learn" on the Reserve Agent Program. This program, up to 12 months in length, allows outside employment while receiving no cost world class training and support as the candidate determines if the insurance business is a viable career path choice.
