We have a saying in our family- Trust nobody but family.
Despite teams that do work out, list the reasons you seek a co-founder.
Then, using the list, seek persons that can contribute that thing without being a co owner in something. It is terribly difficult to get a business started (if not wealthy) and harder to make decisions when two minds can differ so frequently, and neither being wrong, per se, at least initially.
Funding? Try Go Fund Me. or Fundly.
Secretarial-legal? Hire one
Salesperson? Hire one.
Let me know how it goes, it seems to me two people naturally come up with a plan to co found something, generally, it seems an uphill battle to find a person that was not part of that initial brainstorm, or insight to be a perfect fit.
Your very first step is a well written business plan.
