Hello,

I am looking for a mentor in Compliance. I am currently a KYC Analyst and I want to climb the ladder quickly so I would like some advice as to education or certification which would make me a more attractive employee. Please help. I am in the NY/NJ area. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dayron,

Are you looking for someone in the Financial Compliance field or the IT Compliance field or both? I might be able to provide you with some information regarding IT Compliance. I have worked with a program called RSA Archer which is an eGRC (Govern Risk and Compliance) software platform tool. I also hold an Archer Administration Certification. Archer positions are IN DEMAND and there are several companies in your area that have reached out to me with open positions.

Feel free to reach out to me for more information about Archer or any other questions you might have.

Take care and thank you for your service.

Dayron,

Do you see any benefit in working in a client-facing role before transitioning into a compliance position? I think that would be a fantastic way to gain more credibility in the industry.

Dayron - Although not directly KYC/compliance related, if you have an interest in accounting you might consider seeking the ACFE (Association of Certified Fraud Examiners) certification as means to broaden your marketability. If your KYC analyst experience is related to the financial institution/financial services industries, the training available from ACFE provides insights into what the exposures are when proper KYC policies are not implemented or followed.

Good luck!
