How do I meet more Veterans who are interested in buying or selling a home?

Veteran

Jeremy Otto Wausau, WI

I'm a new Realtor, and am constantly looking for ways to connect with Veterans who are buying or selling a home in my area. I am part of the biggest Veteran group in my area, and make a point to connect with as many veterans as possible. I get out and network as much as I can, and make myself known as much as possible.

I know there are some Veterans who are in the real estate market. Is their a way to get referrals for veterans who apply for veteran home loans? Does a veteran referral program exist for fellow veteran realtors?

Hi, Jeremy.

Do you work with buyers, sellers, or both?

If you work with sellers, have you considered suggesting to them to offer some seller financing?

My firm buys seller financed notes, after 90 days seasoning. Many people don't want to use seller financing, due to wanting money now, or not wanting to deal with possible headaches of collecting the money. We can work with them, so that they will know that they would only need to hold the note for 3 months, after which, we can buy it in part, or full.

PM me, if this is something you would be interested in.

Good luck!

all good advice -if I might add 2 to the rest -I am a business broker in Florida and we have the same problem RE residential agents have - a need to get more listings/buyers. It finanlly occurred to me that people/buyers look to google their searches....in other words buyers looking will look on the internet first-so you need a good website with good SEO implemented
If you want to design your on website and save some $ -look at www.inmotionhosting.com/support -click on blue bar -new customers start here
additionally if you want to understand the importance of SEO -visit http://codex.wordpress.org/Search_Engine_Optimization_for_WordPress#More_Resources_and_Tutorials
the service and support you get from inmotion hosting is outstanding you can tie your website to all the social media and display your website on your business cards
if you'd like some more tips -feel free to email me bill1blair@yahoo.com

Jeremy...
As you know, real estate is all about lead generation. Add a veteran/VA logo or icon to all your marketing materials, print media, social media platforms and your webpage. Build a relationship with local home builders and lenders who work with the veterans and VA programs (not all do). Introduce yourself to the local VA Service Officer and place marketing materials in their office. Be sure your webpage connects you to veterans and VA programs. Good luck and keep lead generating...if you are visible, veterans will find you!

Hello Jeremy,
You might want to check out http://www.militarybyowner.com/ and http://www.militaryonesource.mil/ for referrals and a network of realtors. Those networks may point you in the right direction.

Hi Jeremy --
I don't know specific answers to your questions about programs for Veterans but I do know that many realtors these days use Twitter and other forms of social media to get their own brand out there. I'd strongly encourage you to establish a professional Facebook and Twitter account to connect with veterans and other potential clients and to show of your listings. Good luck! Real estate is a long-game, but hard work in cultivation reaps a good harvest later.
-Mary
