Some will be impulse and little effort... like a demand product Ipad-Cell Phone and such. Others may be service based like in home cable or alarms. Pick something YOU like to shop for or learm about,,,, may RV's or Sports Equipment or Cars... its alot easier to sell something you enjoy and believe in... The first thing you need to do is assess your strengths, which should include your education, experience and interests. From this I would develop a blue plate resume, no more than two pages in length. The resume should include your education and experience along with a job objective. It should be results oriented, which would identify, promotions, citations and other award you have earned. The functions of any jobs you have had, and successes enjoyed. The resume should be customized to fit the job you are applying for. I would identify areas of the country you would like to reside. Executive search firms and employment agencies specializing in sales, and any specific industry that you are interested in working should be contacted. I would look a large corporate websites for job openings. Companies like Proctor and Gamble for years had a good training programs. The Linkedin website is another good resource. Look at industry categories that interest you, and try to get involved in committees. It will give you some experience, knowledge about the field, and, hopefully, some good contacts.
