Does anyone know any jobs in the Charlotte NC area like a security specialist or manager? I also am a certified State DOT officer and I enforce federal laws on CMVs. Are there any safety manager or other jobs like that available?

Check for jobs on usajobs.gov. There are security/investigator jobs that are related but not law enforcement. Check for GS series- 1801 & 1810 jobs. 1811 are law enforcement jobs.

Jarod,
There is a lot of different place to use a law enforcement background in. A few place that come to mind are colleges and universities they openings in their safety offices. Corporations hire people folks with law enforcement backgrounds places like Disney Land and Wal mart hire have some in depth security measures. I am not just talking about the people that walk around and make sure that some kid isn't trying to pull mickey's mask off either.

Another field that I have my degree in is Emergency management it is a up and coming field too. FEMA has free E courses on it's web site that anyone can take.

If you do a Google search look up environmental health and safety jobs, and there is web sites that list EHS jobs around the country and the globe.

If you are having a hard time finding different jobs feel free to message me and I will aid you in your search.

A possible employer is the Cable TV op in Charlotte. If you can wait about 3 months the op will be Comcast(Time Warner Cable is merging with Comcast).
Comcast could hire you for loss prevention. I had a guy like you watch over Techs selling gas to their friends using the company credit card and document thefts out of the warehouse. See Comcast..then look at employment.

Jarod,

Perhaps your future is in Nuclear Security. Exelon and others have large, well-trained security forces using state of the art training and weapons to keep our facilities safe. There are a number of nuclear plants in the area you listed. Visit the NRC web page, and you can find them. Then search for security positions on Monster and you'll find openings.

Security positions offer upward mobility, and have reasonably good working conditions. Best of all, there is generally no "beat" to walk.

I hope this helps.
