Are there any companies willing to hire someone with a US Navy Master Training Specialist and/or Instructor certification?

Veteran

The Navy provided me with the opportunities to attain an Instructor certificate as well as a Master Training Specialist qualification. I've also been fortunate enough to serve as a subject matter expert for training manuals, advancement exams, and curriculum development for basic and advanced occupational courses. Further, I attained my MBA a little over a year ago. As I prepare for my transition to the civilian world, I'd really like to pursue a career in corporate training. So far, no luck in that endeavor. Does anyone know of any companies who are willing to hire someone with my type of background?

Scott,

Have you looked into the Union environment? I know the Unions have very large training programs that are specifically tailored to occupational skill growth similar to the armed services. Also, take a look at the "Certification" organizations. I'm a Safety Professional and our Board of Certified Safety Professionals (bcsp.org) develop tests and curriculum to gain the Certified Safety Professional certification. That's just one example for my specific career, I know there are many more organizations out there that are similar and might need someone with your expertise.

Kind Regards,
Josh

Scott,

I think Micron Technology employs quite a few service people.

Good luck!

Many schools are willing to hire individuals such as yourself for their Jr. ROTC programs. You will earn almost the same benefits as a classroom teacher.

Hi Scott,

Thank you very much for your service. I believe many companies will hire someone with your type of background. However, you might not start at the same level in the private sector as you have attained in the Navy. I know for sure Allstate would be interested in speaking to you as we have the below opening available now.

If you would like to speak to the hiring manager, please let me know. Even if it is just have a conversation about if you are overqualified or need more experience.
Great question and let me know if you need more info.
Todd
