Get some "job search" going. Define what the positions are called and then do those meet your needs of Challenge Advancement Money and Security. Next you research companies and actually begin Information Interviewing (where you ask the company(s) for assistance and interview them about your new career. A great way to network and not always start with what positions are open. If they give you the chance to speak about your experiences then do so, you will learn more by asking good questions and listening to them. You need to figure out what kind of job you want. Then you can tailor your resume and profile to showcase your experience and your education. Look online at open positions and look at companies to get a better idea of what companies are looking for. What qualities do they want? What experience? You want to use the proper jargon because some companies use an automated search to weed out resumes.

The summary is going to be key, so you need to sum up what you are looking for in a paragraph.

2. As mentioned above, you do need to identify what you are looking for in a position. If you have two goals then you can tailor a resume for each as necessary. Sometimes the resume stays the same and the cover letter identifies the specifics you are looking for in a position.

First, thank you for your service and second I would be willing to review your resume. I don’t want to repeat any of the great advise given so far but will try to add some additional advice. The issue I’ve been seeing these days with electronic submissions of resumes is that programs basically search for key words which may avoid forwarding good candidate. So advice #1: look at job positing(s) see what appears to be key words, if your experience/training relates include them in your resume. If experienced but terms are similar but known differently in the military still list it and explain/relate the key ones in the resume or cover letter. Advice #2: linkedin may be a place to post a solid general resume but make sure you customize it to the job posting you are applying against. Advice #3: if you see a posting that is serious interest and you know you can be a great candidate search linkedin for that company for contacts; follow chains to see if anyone in you associations has a link and if found see if they can present your resume. If you don’t find an association but find an HR contact linked to the company consider sending them the resume and cover letter indicating assistance with the specific postings.
