What re-enlistment opportunities are there for post-graduate students entering OCS?

Veteran

Carlos Castillo Fort Drum, NY

I am a finance major with a MS in finance. I have found it very difficult penetrating career opportunities within Investment Management where employers seek more experience qualified candidates (CFAs, CAIAs, FRM, etc.). I don't see myself in a desk job anymore and have always had a passion to re-enlist as an officer.

I've finished my initial 8 yr contractual obligation with the U.S. Army Reserves and Guard. I am currently interested pursuing the elite Ranger Rgt with my infantry experience.

What pay grade is offered while going through commission with a masters degree?

Would it be required to enter OCS school at Benning before Airborne and Ranger school?

Is it feasible to make a reasonable family life as a Ranger with all the training and deployments expected?

I really appreciate anyone's experienced advice. I understand this site is for veterans who are planning to re-enter the workforce. Although, as a veteran, I am seeking expert advice from those who can provide truthful feedback and not from the mouth of a recruiter.

Thank you.
