Come put your GI Bill to great use and join our innovative Certified Safety Specialist Apprenticeship Program. The first of its kind. We are seeking veterans, just like you, to join our team. We are looking for candidates that have an interest in Occupational Safety and Health and a dedication to ensuring your fellow co-workers return home at the end of the day injury and illness free. Come work for one of our Registered Training Agents in the construction, manufacturing or healthcare industry. You will receive 4500 hours of on-the-job training (OJT) and mentoring from journey leveled safety and health professionals, while earning a livable wage. In addition, you will pursue your Occupational Safety and Health Certificate through Edmonds Community College’s web based online classes. Certificate credits can put you 40 credits closer to obtaining an Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s degree.

What will you learn:
• How to serve as a resource to develop and administer a proactive prevention program for accidents and illnesses.
• Provide technical assistance to office and field operations to ensure compliance with applicable international, federal, state and/or company environmental, safety, and health regulations.
• Keep abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
• Conduct compliance evaluations of equipment, structures, and work in progress to ensure that regulatory environmental, safety, and health standards of the company and all applicable codes are followed.
• Recommend facilities and technological specifications to carry out programs that fulfill the organization's overall objectives.
• Prepare and reviews technical reports, correspondence, and procedures manuals. Establishes and maintains licenses and permits as required.
• Meet applicable regulatory codes and standards where required.
• Effectively interact and communicate with internal and external contacts such as site management, risk management personnel, business line leads, Health and Safety personnel and office managers. External contacts subcontractors and regulatory agencies.
