We are currently seeking a Chief Engineer for a new and exciting boutique hotel in Downtown Pittsburgh. Featuring 185 guestrooms in a historic building painstakingly repurposed with travelers’ in mind, Distrikt Hotel Pittsburgh promises to be one of the most interesting hotels that Pittsburgh has seen.

Our Chief Engineer will be responsible for the overall maintenance of the hotel’s physical systems, maintenance costs, safety policies, and contractors. We are looking for someone eager to develop a team of superheros based on inherent skills and hands-on, lead-by-example management.

Do you have the skills to...

1) Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in electrical/mechanical systems (e.g. HVAC, plumbing) and other hotel equipment?
ƒ 2) Review maintenance problems, complaints and work orders to prioritize and schedule work?
ƒ 3) Inspect property and systems to identify potential and current needs and ƒ perform preventive maintenance?
4) Have previous hotel experience? (Strongly preferred, but not necessary)
You will...
5) Conduct ongoing room preventative maintenance (see maintenance manual for system specifics).
ƒ 6) Estimate department expenditures for budget purposes and assist with the capital budget process.
ƒ 7) Solicit bids from contractors and evaluate their proposals. Once contractor is selected and employed, ensure work is completed to specifications.
8) Oversee the local health, safety, fire, and building inspectors to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
9) Communicate across departments and with management and complete maintenance logs daily.
10) Supervise, schedule and train maintenance team.
