JOB SUMMARY

Surface Preparation & Industrial Cleaning (SP&IC) Engineering is looking for a Mechanical Engineer. In this role you will provide mechanical engineering skills to transform marketing requirement specifications into commercialized products that meet quality, reliability, manufacturability and cost objectives of each program and project. As a member of the engineering group, (s)he will be responsible for developing, designing, qualifying and releasing new products for our current and next generation product lines.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Contribute to the design of Surface Preparation & Industrial Cleaning (SP&IC) pump systems accessories, and system solutions that fit within the overall product option architecture. Initiate engineering changes, and new product releases, that impact the product line.

• Develop and Design complex mechanical assemblies and parts
• Implement Engineering Changes
• Develop and maintain Bill of Materials
• Perform design validation using digital and physical prototyping, software simulation analysis tools (e.g. CFD, FEA)
• Characterize and verify product performance to meet engineering specifications
• Provide product design and generate supporting documentation, including solid models, drawings, BOM's, engineering reports, validation test plans and test reports
• Ensure material compatibility of components, parts and assemblies used in products
• Participate on Failure Analysis and Corrective Action teams for new products
• Work closely with manufacturing engineering to identify, design and provide support for implementation of facilities, equipment and fixtures required to perform Standard Test Procedures
• Must be customer focused, self-motivated, and able to handle multiple tasks

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years’ experience in machine/capital equipment design or related area
• Must have a strong grasp of engineering fundamentals
• 3D Solid Modeling expertise required. Experience with Solidworks, preferred
• Experience using PDM systems
• Ability to develop new products from concept through production
• Demonstrated ability to be part of a small team with aggressive goals
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Good organizational, communication, and prioritization skills
• Working knowledge of ANSI Y14.5
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
• Finite element analysis expertise preferred (structural, thermal, etc.)

EDUCATION

• BSME Required or equivalent education with 2-5 years’ experience
