The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for coordinating training and activities of skilled workers in a variety of facets within the Maintenance Department (Electrical & Mechanical). Drives continuous improvement projects and supports the daily needs of personnel in support of manufacturing operations.

Duties and Responsibilities (*Indicates an Essential Function)

Participate in scheduling work and providing daily direction and support to maintenance personnel to support department and manufacturing objectives
Review requests for Maintenance group support of repairs and improvements to provide clear direction to personnel
Daily maintenance and improvement of LEAN manufacturing and TPM programs within the department
Maintain inventory system to identify parts, inventory levels and source of replacement material
Prepare and submit purchase requisitions for replenishment and repair work
Work with electricians and technicians in troubleshooting and development of improved controls and PLC
Understand and administer work with energized equipment to facilitate troubleshooting, while maintaining safety of personnel
Using departmental personnel resources, diagnose causes of electrical problems or failures to identify required equipment and system repairs
Work with Electricians and Technicians in inspection of electrical systems and their components to evaluate condition, recommending preventive maintenance and identification of necessary repairs
Prepares written materials to document activities and convey information to personnel under their direction
Follows verbal and written instruction and is accountable for his/her actions
Follows safety guidelines (PPE, etc.) and demonstrates safe work practices
Ability to perform tasks in a safe manner, following plant safety rules, including Lockout/Tagout
Adhere to the safety and quality standards (goals and metrics) of the organization while working within a team environment
Accepts increased responsibility and is accountable for their actions
Promotes job and process improvement as it relates to the department
Responds to multiple assignments in a timely and efficient manner
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency required
No less than two years of supervisory experience, directing skilled and semi-skilled employees
Experience in a Maintenance environment strongly preferred
Knowledge and understanding of applicable codes, including National Electrical Code
Self-directed with high level of initiative and strong work ethic required
Strong electrical knowledge to be able to understand requirements of work and materials and be a resource to tradespeople
Knowledge of PLC systems, variable frequency and DC drives
Ability to read and understand instruction manuals for installation and troubleshooting of equipment
Ability to use electrical test equipment (i.e. multi-meter)
Possess the ability to react to changes of responsibility throughout the day
Must have the flexibility to respond to multiple assignments and a strong multi-tasking capability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved, written and oral instructions
Math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent
Must be willing to work on whatever shift they are needed, including nights and weekends
Ability to speak, read and write English fluently
Computer skills, including familiarization with Microsoft Office, Oracle, and Outlook
