Job Summary
The Software Engineer is responsible for building and developing software systems in support of satellite systems.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Develop highly reliable software solutions based on the needs of the Engineering Team and mission.
Collaborate with Engineering Team on architecture, design and code review.
Build prototypes to prove out key design concepts and qualifying technical constraints.
Find efficient solutions to user issues and problems with software.
Testing systems for conformance to standards and specifications
Verify compliance to applicable standards and other approved documentation
Serve as the technical authority supporting projects to include the evaluation of newly developed approaches used to formulate programming or systems specifications.
Communicate professionally and effectively with internal and external customers

Able to analyze problems and strategize for best solutions
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or equivalent experience.
Three (3) years of experience writing software in C/C++ for Linux.
Experience with DevSecOPs, Git and JIRA with a demonstrated understanding.
Expertise in designing software systems.
Expertise testing in Virtual Machines including VirtualBox and/or QEMU.
Knowledge of Linux embedded software development including Firmware Images, Linux kernel configuration modules and user-space drivers.
Ability to implement drivers based on vendor descriptions.
Ability to read and use existing C/C++ code base.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Microsoft Teams

All candidates selected will be subject to a background investigation and drug screen
To conform to U.S. Government International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
