Job Description
Establishes and maintains network performance by building net configurations and connections, troubleshooting network problems. Network Engineers will be responsible for core infrastructure design and implementation of enterprise-level WAN architecture using industry best practices. The position requires candidates to have excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues (network maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations).

Required Qualifications
· Ability to communicate technically and simply, both orally and in writing, with event users, communities of practice, peers and stakeholders.
· Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation and defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
· Validate security controls are functioning as intended in accordance with NIST 800-53 and RMF compliance requirements.
· Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
· Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing, and managing projects.
· Experience with Cisco routers and switches (NEXUS, Catalyst, ISR, and ASR).
· Proficient with NetQoS, IOS version management and IOS upgrades.
· Proficient with Routing and Switching technologies to include traffic manipulation with OSPF/EIGRP/BGP.
· Proficient using syslog and other log aggregation tools.

Desired Qualifications:
· Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work activities toward the successful accomplishment of a task, goal, or project.
· Knowledge of current information technology principles, theories, concepts and methods to provide technical support to the organization.

Required Certifications:
· Cisco CCNA (Routing/Switching/Data Center)
· DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 or higher certification

Desired Certifications:
· Cisco CCNP (Enterprise or similar)
· VMWare VCP or equivalent level of knowledge
· NetApp Certifications or equivalent level of knowledge
