The Institute for Law Enforcement Education (ILEE) is a recognized leader in law enforcement highway safety training, providing instruction to thousands of law enforcement professionals annually across the state. This is a unique opportunity to share your knowledge and experience, along with industry best practices and current case law, with other law enforcement professionals.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

As an instructor for ILEE, you will travel across the state facilitating highway safety classes for law enforcement professionals. Classes include, but are not limited to: certification in the use of breath test instruments, standardized field sobriety testing, traffic patrol/drug interdiction, certification in the use of NIK narcotics identification system, drug recognition and familiarization, handling and interviewing juvenile DUI offenders, vehicle search and seizure, vehicle inspection regulations, and report writing.

Classes are offered M-F between 8am-5pm. State vehicle provided, travel expenses and accommodations are reimbursed. Overnight stays are required. Instructor is responsible for loading/unloading course materials.

Instructor is responsible for completing and coordinating curriculum updates with the ILEE team and for proposing new class ideas.

Work Hours and Additional Information:
•Full-time employment.
•Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
•You will have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. (On days in which instruction is not scheduled, the employee may telework unless directed by the Program Manager or the Division Chief to report to the office.) In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY:

Qualifications:
•Minimum Experience and Training Requirements - Four years of experience as a sworn law enforcement officer that includes or is supplemented by one year of teaching or formal training experience in law enforcement programs, and completion of 60 college credits
