The Insurance Department is seeking an associate actuary to join their Life, Accident & Health Bureau.

The chosen candidate would be mentored and trained by experienced staff. Your work will primarily be performed in the Harrisburg office, however some travel may be required.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

This is a career opportunity for a positive and productive individual who enjoys analyzing predictive models while performing mathematical and financial calculations. Responsibilities would include reviewing rate filings from the Insurance Industry and determining if rates and rules are compliant with established regulations and laws. In addition, you would ensure each filing was actuarially supportive. You would also be encouraged to participate in drafting new regulations, serve on various product line specific committees and work with our Legal Staff on innovative products. Our ideal candidate will be highly motivated, highly organized and possess a strong work ethic. Also, strong verbal and written communication as well as problem solving skills are a must. •Full-time employment
•Work Hours: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm; Monday - Friday; 1 hour lunch
•Parking provided by the agency
•You will have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY:

Qualifications: •Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: a Bachelor's Degree with major course work in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics.
