This is professional work in the administration of statewide migrant education programs that provide educational and supplemental services for migrant education students. Programs include migrant supplementary educational supports, migrant summer programs, migrant student recruitment, and parental involvement. This individual may also be involved in supports to English language learners and other diverse culture and linguistic initiatives focusing on grades K-8.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
Provide professional advisory, consultative, and management services to public and private schools, community-based organizations, PDE staff, staff of other state agencies, and federal agencies regarding the general operation and administration of the migrant education program. Develop, determine and implement improvements for programs to enhance services for migrant education students. Provide curriculum, instructional, technology, and assessment program recommendations. Recommend the implementation of new programs. Support the statewide operation of the provision of educational and support services for migrant education children. Interpret federal and state regulations as they pertain to the program. Review policies to ensure common core standards and curricula are in compliance with federal and state regulations. Provide training and support pertaining to early childhood and elementary school level services for migrant children.
Provide advice and technical assistance to grantees on program implementation and adherence to federal statutes, regulations and non-regulatory guidance. Coordinate and conduct on-site monitoring visits to include staff preparation and logistics as well as follow-up compliance by project sites. Determine training needs for various forums. Provide training, conferences and workshops for diverse audiences, specifically to increase awareness of migrant education services and programs. Provide advice to migrant staff on research-based practices for literacy development and early childhood and special education services for migrant students. The person in this position will be required to travel.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY:

•Minimum Experience and Training Requirements - Four years of professional experience in the field of education; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.
