Summary Description:
The Commercial Diving Supervisor develops, executes, manages, and coordinates commercial diving projects; typically as a subcontractor to area ABRs and MSRs (Shipyards) installing and maintaining various cofferdams to support Shipyard repairs. This person implements work plans and schedules in support of awarded job requirements and manages diver personnel assigned to perform safe, effective diving operations. The Commercial Diving Supervisor also oversees systems maintenance and equipment calibration used to perform commercial work and coordinates job related record keeping including; technical procedures, safety forms, cost spreadsheets, expense, and job reports. This position is located in Norfolk, VA and reports to the Commercial Operations Manager.

Classification: Non-Exempt (hourly)

Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise project planning, mobilization, execution, demobilization, and equipment/systems RFI effort for jobs.
Lead and manage assigned divers and subcontractor personnel in support of projects.
Coordinate project execution with clients, as required.
Use established Phoenix commercial underwater ship husbandry (UWSH) processes to perform work and communicate with clients.
Promote and ensure compliance with Phoenix's safety programs, quality management system (QMS), and company policies, processes, and procedures.
Follow Shipyard safety and OSHA requirements while working as a subcontractor in ship repair industrial environments.
Manage and maintain inventory of cofferdams and cofferdam support equipment located in Norfolk VA.
Ensure Phoenix-owned and personal diving equipment is correctly maintained, prepared, and tested before each dive.
Supervise maintenance on Phoenix-owned diving and diving support equipment.
While on dive station be in immediate control of operations and be prepared to execute emergency procedures, as needed.
Report any incidents and/or accidents involving personnel, equipment, client property, or the environment promptly and in accordance with established procedures.
Ensure assigned personnel are trained and qualified for intended tasks and physically fit to dive.
Train and mentor employees.
Assist with job estimates, proposals, and reports as required.

Job Requirements:
Graduate of a professional diving school.
Minimum ten years actual diving and three years Supervisory experience in commercial UWSH activities including as a minimum; Cofferdam installation, underwater inspections, and familiarity with NAVSEA UWSH manual Chapter 16 Cofferdams.
Ability to execute Formal Work Procedures (FWPs) and Process Control Procedures (PCPs), including Navy Work Authorization Forms (WAF) and Navy ship tag-out procedures.
Ability to obtain ADCI and TWIC Cards.
Must obtain a Passport within 6 months of employment.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Excellent organization and communication (written and verbal) skills and the ability to meet critical deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Computer skills with competence in Microsoft Office Suite.
Maintain current certification in First Aid and CPR.
Significant physical effort required.
Must be able to pass annual diving physical, if in a diving status.
Ability to travel worldwide on short notice, for indefinite periods of time.
Commercial truck driver license (CDL) and welding experience desired, but not required.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, physical, and background check, as required.
