SUMMARY:
The person in this position performs duties related to rail car cleaning, inspection, and movement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follow Rail Link's operation and safety rules
Work on and around railcars and other moving equipment
Inspection of railroad hopper cars for defects/safety issue on the outside and inside of the car.
Wash/Dry railroad hopper cars for plant loading.
Safely switch/spot cars from one track to another, this includes lining switches.
Assist with other projects and perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
•Ability to work a flexible schedule including day or night shifts
•Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays
•Ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures and inclement weather
•Ability to regularly lift and/or move 75 pounds
•Ability to stand for eight to twelve hours
•Ability to bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, and occasionally climb
•Willingness to travel as required
*Railroad car washing experience and/or plant experience is a plus.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR CREDENTIALS:
•High school diploma or equivalent
•Valid driver’s license
•Reliable transportation
