To be a rock star in this role, knock these responsibilities out of the park:

  • Maintain mechanical and electrical systems and processes in a high level of efficiency, operational readiness, organization, orderliness and free of clutter or hazards.
  • Responsible for system Scheduled Maintenance and other work assigned on a daily basis.
  • Review, maintain, comprehend, and follow Work Plans, Sequence of Operations, Standard Operating Procedures, P&ID's, and Process Flow Diagrams. – experienced hire
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records of daily activities, equipment status, and operating parameters.
  • Manage daily CM’s, PM’s, and other work as required in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems, Event Notifications, Operators Log, and other systems in the Facilities Information Systems portal.
  • Monitor building systems through various SCADA and respond to alarms based on level of priority.
  • Perform daily inspections of operational areas that may include hazards such as sound, extreme heat or cold, chemicals, high voltage electricity, and heavy equipment.
  • Must be able to respond quickly to potentially critical situations, perform rapid, accurate assessments, trouble shoot systems and components to identify causes of failures, determine appropriate corrective actions, and implement these corrections promptly to mitigate the effects of system changes.

Think you can handle it? You’ll also need to come equipped with experience like:

  • Knowledge in the principles of operating and monitoring various building systems including:
  • Electrical systems (Familiar with UPS, generator, and HV breaker operations )
  • Pumps for chill water, condenser water, lift stations, etc.
  • Air systems including CRAC’s, VAV’s, AHU/MAU’s, VLFs
  • Chilled Water Systems which include chillers, cooling towers, expansion tanks, etc.
  • Hot water systems which include boilers, heat exchangers, etc.
  • Must be proficient in the use of SCADA systems to monitor and control site infrastructure systems. Preferred knowledge of SCADA to make changes as directed by system owner and/or weather change conditions.
  • Must be able to work with Iconic’s, PowerLogic, CSI, and Wonder Ware.
  • Must be team oriented and highly collaborative, possess effective oral and written communication skills, and be extremely reliable and dependable.
  • Able to interpret and work from written instructions and drawings with minimal supervision and Must be a self-starter and proactive in developing daily work plans.
  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of relevant experience or 0 years of experience with an Associate’s Degree
  • Must be able to lift and move objects up to 30 pounds consistently with heavier weight necessary at times
  • Must be familiar with basic PC applications, such as Windows, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Process cooling water, chemical and gas systems, deionized water systems, process vacuum plant systems
  • Supporting clean room environments
