About Matthew
I started off receiving my BS in Civil Engineering through the Georgia Tech NROTC Scholarship in Atlanta, GA. I graduated and commissioned as an Ensign in 2011 and spent the majority of my commitment in San Diego, CA serving on 3 ships and in multiple roles.
My areas of expertise varied from Project Management to Supervision of 10-30 direct reports over my 6 years. I was able to leverage my Project Management experience into achieving my PMP Certification.
After leaving the Navy at the start of 2018, I worked with Military Officer Recruiters and interviewed for multiple positions, including Project Management and Production/Operations/Maintenance Supervisory roles. My technical experience, Supervisory roles, and Maintenance experience turned out to be a good match for a Maintenance Supervisor position in a Distribution Center in Ontario, California.
I stayed with that role for a year before transferring to San Diego and finding a position at a local Civil Engineering Consulting firm where I am learning my trade as an Assistant Engineer and preparing to take the PE Exam to become a Licensed Engineer in the state of California.
