About Michael

I am an Approved Provider of Continuing Professional Education for the U.S. Treasury Department, Internal Revenue Service, or the IRS. I serve as Professor of Law Emeritus, Joint Program for CPAs and Enrolled Agents in Federal Tax and U.S. Tax Court Trial Practice and Litigation Support at the Tax Law Institute and University of Alabama School of Law Graduate Tax Program. I prepare non-lawyers to take the federal bar exam, aka U.S. Tax Court Non-attorney Examination. If they pass the exam and the moral character background check, after training with my program they can actually practice tax law before the U.S. Tax Court in all fifty states and any U.S. territories, or anywhere where the Court holds session - without having obtained a J.D. from a U.S. law school. The program takes about a year or two to complete if the applicant has a background in federal taxation. If not, then the entire training for someone with absolutely no prior knowledge would take about two-to-three years. This is an ideal career choice for retuning veterans. The entire program is offered in audio conferencing format and online during days, evenings or on weekends so you can continue to maintain a full-time job. And it cost a fraction of what one would pay to attend law school - about $15,000-to-$28,000. Our students are situated all over the U.S. Other than our live, annual one- and two-week forums (optional) held at Harvard University in Massachusetts and in Washington DC, there is no requirement to physically be in classroom. Upon completion, a person is eligible (subject to testing) to become an 1) IRS Special Enrolled Agent, 2) ABA Law School Certified Tax Practitioner, and 3) Licensed United States Tax Court Practitioner.
