30 years experience in small business
After 12 years as a full-time Chief Financial Officer, I knew I wanted to do something different and went independent, providing part-time or periodic CFO-level support to start-ups and existing small businesses that needed the expertise but couldn't afford the expense of a full-time role. This has been my passion, and I've been doing it for about 13 years now. I've assisted businesses with financial and strategic planning, corporate governance, human resource management, and have expanded into webstore and POS setup and integration as well. I am a Quickbooks ProAdvisor, and assist clients in launching their first financial management tools. I've worked with the Lower Cape Community Development Partnership providing educational seminars on business health, and was the treasurer of First Night Chatham for three years. I also enjoy mentoring, counseling business leaders as well as lower level employees, and have extended that passion into work with the Big Brother/Big Sister organization. The "first half" of my career was spent primarily in high tech in the greater Boston area, but my interim CFO work has expanded my expertise into retail, manufacturing, professional services, initial business setup, and POS and webstore integration.
