About Vernon

My name is Vernon Perry I joined the Army after graduating high school in 1999. I spent 3 years as a Forward Observer in 10th MTN Division. After 9/11 I realized that I needed to do more so I attended Special Forces Assessment and Selection and was successful. I then started the Special Forces Qualification Course (SFQC) in Summer of 2003 and completed the SFQC December of 2004 as a Special Forces Weapons Sergeant. I spent 8 years in 5th Special Forces Group deploying to the Central Command Area of Responsibility numerous times. Throughout my time in 5th SFG I completed numerous professional military schools and completed 80 percent of my under-graduate degree. In 2012 I reported to Fort Bragg to serve as a Special Forces Assessment and Selection Instructor. I completed my under-graduate degree in May of 2013 B.S. in Criminal Justice. Aug 2014-June of 2015 I was fortunate enough to get selected to attend a Masters of Arts in Strategic Security Studies for Special Operations Personnel through the National Defense University in Washington D.C. and graduate with a 3.6 GPA. I returned to 5th SFG to serve as a Special Forces Operations Sergeant from Aug 2015-Aug 2017. I then returned to Fort Bragg (wife remained at Bragg) and have been serving as the Support BN Operations Sergeant Major for 1st Special Warfare Training Group since Aug 2017. I blessed to have a lovely wife named Brianna and a 7-month old son name Vernon (he is the 5th). I enjoy hunting, fishing, golf, and reading. I look forward to retirement and being able to enjoy my lovely family with no deployments.
