One of the most difficult things about the military is transitioning out of the military, “What are you going to do when you grow up?” Transition is daunting, uncertain, and requires a huge adjustment emotionally, culturally, and spiritually. It has been a journey to narrow my focus in transition to the Leadership and Development (LeadDev) positions that Athletic Departments are generating across the country. The relative newness of the LeadDev field offers me the bandwidth to use my military experience and drive to impact the lives of 18-24 year old student-athletes.
