About James
My name is James Jones. I’m currently stationed at Ft. Meade, MD. My military career spans over two decades of combined experience in asset management, operations, reverse logistics, and accountability audits. I’ve spent the past twelve years as a logistics Warrant Officer providing expertise in logistics management, strategic planning, and decision support to drive organizational outcomes, relating to supply chain management.
In my current position, I’m the principal staff officer with respect to logistics matters, I advise and assist the Commander and staff on all courses of action surrounding logistical support. I exercise, within appropriate delegated authority, supervision over all supply distribution, procurement, maintenance, transportation, food service, and movement of personnel and equipment of all assigned or attached units.
I’m pursuing a career pathway in supply chain leadership where I can develop people, challenge myself and add value to the team and organization.
Passions - Living in Northern California allowed me to step outside of my comfort zone in regards to outdoor life. Honestly, you can't live here and not explore. I'm still getting used to camping, but the outdoor life has grown on me a little bit. Other than that, just relaxing, spending time with my family, and an occasional pick-up basketball game are always in the cards.
Education - I participated in an online/residency hybrid program through the Institute for Defense and Business. This program provided a MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and a Certificate of Global Supply Chain Leadership from UNC-Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.
Honestly, I just want to be the best person I can be and just see what opportunities are available when they finally arise. Be more, then do more.
