About Valerie
When my son started first grade and didn’t need me so much, I took an editing certificate course at a nearby university and then hung out my shingle. Since then, the boy has graduated high school, and I’ve developed my biz into two branches: technical and fiction.
On the technical side, I create and edit exam courseware and questions for online certification programs. I also work on accessibility: ensuring those exams can be completed by people who use assistive devices and programs like screen readers.
On the fiction side, I help authors develop their stories and improve their writing skills. I focus on sci-fi (including military sci-fi!) and fantasy, and lately I’ve begun helping a few people with their memoirs. I love helping writers find their voice!
My family includes me and my husband, our college-bound son, and three very needy cats. I love to hike, read, and crochet. And feed the wildlife in the backyard. I currently live in the Seattle area, tho we are on the search for a new place to call home.
My dad served in the Air Force for 20 years. I’d love to be able to give back!
