About Charles
I earned my B.S. in chemical engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology related to bioreactor scale up and distillation tower operation in 1993.
I went on to obtain my MBA from Georgia Southern University while working as an environmental engineer for Union Camp Corporation in Savannah, GA. This was a 4,000 ton per day paper mill where I worked on their 300 million gallon aerated industrial wastewater treatment lagoon, wetlands mitigation program and storm water / landfill permitting. I developed and installed a two phase CO2 injection system capable to neutralize the 20,000 gallon per minute wastewater stream.
Following this activity, I obtained my PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Notre Dame related to electrochemical surface modifications of Si and Al substrates for energy generation, quantum dot fabrication and corrosion suppression.
Presently, I am a senior engineer with over 107 patents related to lead free plating and packaging assembly. Specifically, I work for the Systems Packaging Development group. My specific department runs and operates the heterogeneous integration (HI) packaging lab located in East Fishkill, NY.
I am a civilian but am helping with the Veterans Business Resource Group (BRG) at IBM.
