About Kathleen

I graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law in Champaign/Urbana in 1988. I worked for five years as an Assistant Public Defender, and then went into private practice in a three attorney firm. I opened my own private firm, with my husband as my business partner(he served as office manager and paralegal). From time to time I had an associate attorney, but primarily handled cases on my own. I concentrated in criminal defense, and over the years tried hundreds of cases, including approximately fifty First Degree Murder cases. I retired from the active practice of law in August of 2016, and currently serve as an advisor through the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys for the New York State Clemency Project.
