About Wallace
I am a recently retired service connected veteran. My four years in the Air Force impacted my entire life in both negative and positive ways. I worked at different jobs following discharged and went to school at night. Eventually I worked for the Post Office with many other veterans but eventually my injuries took a toll and I was no longer able to work and went on SS disability while fighting for increase in my VA disability. My doctors told me to get used to the fact that I would never work again.
I worked everyday at finding treatments that would help me be able to go back to school and even though I was past the 10 year limit I was approved for VA Voc rehab which enabled me to return to school and provide for my family. I earned my Masters degree and later my Doctor of Audiolgy an accomplishment that I never imagined. I worked in private practice and groups and eventually joined the staff of a VA hospital....the same one that I had spent many months in. I served as a mentor and career coach for other employees looking to advance their careers and did everything possible to help veterans with claims. My injuries finally caught up with me and I retired earlier than planned to improve my quality of life. I offer whatever advice I can give.
