About Glenn

I have military experience in the US Army - stationed 18 months in former Republic of South Vietnam, during 1966-1967.
I work on Steel and Concrete designs for heavy industry.
I have worked in the same field as a drafter and advanced through the years to lead structural designer and as design supervisor. Since my return from service with the US army in 1968, I have worked at 20 different firms on 34 separate contracts. I think I know how to search for work opportunities in my field. Much of my career was in pursuit of the next contract, this is called Job Shopping. You focus on completing the contract and search for the next one, always ready to move onto the next contract. This kept me out of office politics and focused on the job at hand. This also meant I had to prove myself each time I got a new job.
Not everyone is suited to changing jobs two or three times a year, I can advise how to improve the odds for keeping the job and getting picked up into more permanent employment.
