About Kent
I am a 20 year retired Naval Officer that started his career Enlisted as a Nuclear Power Machinist Mate. I served two tours, boots on ground in Iraq, in South Korea and multiple locations in the US. My specialty in the Navy was Enterprise IT Operations from Servers to Datacenters, including networking and long haul transport (SATCOM and fiber), Information Security, Space Operations (Missile Warning, and launch tracking) and a little in Nuclear Power - Submarines. I have served with and lead, Soldiers, Sailors, Airman and Marines.
When I transitioned from the Navy, I entered Government service as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for a DoD Field Activity. Feeling adventurous I left the Government for the private sector where I ran the IT and Security for Tenable Network Security and Fidelis Cybersecurity as well as doing so consulting for DoD and State Governments. I have transitioned from jobs on my own and involuntarily (i.e. laid off and separated).
I am know with Deloitte back in cybersecurity and understand the fear and uncertainty of change in transition with careers. I am happy to help any transitioning veteran to their next steps wherever that are in that process.
