John has fused marketing and technical skills to deliver new B2C and B2B services that continue to generate millions in incremental profit each year.
At Avis Budget Group, he was the executive sponsor in charge of enabling customers to pre-pay for their car rental online. Working closely with the legal, IT, finance and revenue management teams, John delivered an innovative, consumer-friendly product that generated $300 million -- triple the revenue of rival Hertz -- in the first year. The $2 million project was delivered on time and on budget. "Pay Now" is now over a $1 billion channel.
When John arrived at Sotheby's in 2015, digital advertising was practically non-existent and the consignment process was handled manually. John brought advertising in-house and created an integrated platform that broke down silos between art specialists, clients and digital marketers. Response time went from 4-6 weeks to 1-2 days. Submissions increased 9X. This new platform now brings in tens of millions each year and enjoys double-digit growth. 70% of the clients are new.
After graduating from college, John served in the Peace Corps in Togo, West Africa.
