About LUKE
My name is Luke Lu, I am currently deployed in Djibouti, Africa with the U.S. Army. I am a veteran of Operation Iraqi/Enduring Freedom (OEF/OIF 2001-2005). I would like to be considered for a career opportunity with your Insurance and Financial Services Company. So, that I can further my education, expand my career prospects, and be able to help my fellow military members and veterans with their financial planning needs. I have earned the Masters Business Administration (MBA).
After carefully doing my soul-searching for a meaningful career change to the, “Insurance and Financial Services” arena, I have made up my mind to pursue the Charter Financial Consultant (ChFC) and CFP credential to serve the niche market of those in need of such services. Also, I'd love to be able to utilize my degree to make an impact and offer essential services in my passion career field. I would like to share a few ideas for how participation in your program will help me achieve those goals. My first goal is to be the best provider for my family and a role model for my children. My second goal is to be capable of catering my future credentials to help the disabled, veterans, elderly, and their children. My third goal is to continue to help the “Baby Boomer/Silent Generation” to retire with dignity, enjoy their healthy golden age and maintain lifestyles and retain a lifetime quality of life.
I would like to enhance my skills through the training that I will receive to attain the Charter Financial Consultant certification. Such skills and certifications will lead to employment placement and satisfaction. Participation in the program will grant me the opportunity to advance my education and achieve the milestone a financial consultant.
As a veteran and soldier, I have been equipped with the mindset and tenacity to do the best with whatever I pursue. Receiving the career opportunity in the dream passion. Also, I am in the process to earn my Charter Financial Consultant (ChFC)/Certified Financial Planner with The American College. It will grant me a chance of a lifetime to transition to a meaningful private sector career.
The military values, traits, and leadership principles that I have learned have helped prepare me for the next step in my career. I have mastered the ability to focus on my career goals by learning how to multi-task, take initiative, and persevere through constant difficulties. I have learned through the military that good leadership results in good work ethic, moral, and overall mission accomplishment. I've learned to accept feedback from others and to be persistent with my plans and goals. The military has given me the opportunity to purse my education, enchance my skills and become a better person.
Lastly, I ‘d like to note that I have experience in the marketing of insurance/sales field with the following companies: World Financial Group, American General Life & Accident and United Healthcare. Also, in September, 2002 I received my insurance license. I am currently participating as a volunteer with the group called Friends of Africa, a multi-national military volunteer organization. The activities include education, daily living activities and recreation for local children.
