About Gary

Gary Spearow, U.S. Army, joined the Naval War College as a Military Professor teaching Strategy and Policy in 2018. He received his commission with a B.S. in Geography from Kansas State University in 1992. He has commanded at the battalion level and served at all staff levels up to the Combatant Commands. His operational assignments included the 1st Cavalry Division (twice), 1st Infantry Division, 23rd Area Support Group, 3rd Corps Support Command, US Central Command, 17th Field Artillery Brigade, and US Army Central (3rd Army - USARCENT). He served overseas in Korea, Germany and supported all ongoing operations in a host of Middle East locations. Gary previously taught at the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) and earned his M.A. in National Security and Strategic Studies from the US Naval War College in 2015.
