Hi everyone, I am Ruma a military veteran spouse, I am a molecular biologist by training and have a Masters degree in Mol Biology from Long island University. I came to the United States in 1991 from India to pursue higher education. My early work experience at State University Of New York Downstate Medical center included applied research where I performed various Molecular Bio procedures such as DNA extraction, purification, gel electrophoresis, PCR and maintaining bacterial cultures, autoclave use. Currently I am involved in Community Health Literacy which includes promoting and presenting a range of topics such as Hypertension and childhood obesity initiatives.
