Seeking a career in human resources
During my 15 years of service in the Air Force, I have tried to position myself for employment in learning and development for a companies' HR department. I've been an aircraft maintenance instructor teaching over 3,000 hours, I earned a certification in instructional systems design, Air Force Master Instructor designation, and an Air Force Professional Managers Certification (similar to PMP focused on effectively supervising a large number of Airmen). I also have varied experience as an aircraft maintenance technician and human resources for groups of 100 people as a section chief to 500 people as a 1st Sergeant.
Apart from my AF career, I've earned a Bachelors of Science in Workforce Education and Development, and a Masters of Arts in Education Technology. I have also started a chapter of a National Honor Society at George Washington University where I currently hold the position of secretary.
Ultimately, I want to be a Chief Human Resources Officer, lead a human resources department, or lead the Talent Development department for a medium or a large corporation. So for this goal, I'm trying to pursue a similar role while serving my last 5 years in the military and evaluating the next development opportunity that would make me more attractive for employment.
