About Jake

I am a 1986 graduate of the US Military Academy. I served 5 years active duty as an Infantry officer, including tours in Korea, Ft. Stewart, GA and Saudi Arabia/Iraq for the Gulf War. Graduated with a J.D. from NY University School of Law in 1994. I spent 4 years in law firm as a merger & acquisitions and securities lawyer. Next worked as a lawyer for Goldman Sachs' private equity business (1998-2002), then did a similar job for Soros Fund Management (2002-2005). Worked in hedge funds from 2005 to 2017, first as general counsel of Atticus Capital LP (2005-2007), then as chief operating officer / general counsel of Hoplite Capital Management, LLC (2007-2013). then general counsel of Hudson Executive Capital LP. Currently I am in private practice, focusing on hedge funds, private equity funds and venture capital.
