About Amber

I'm getting ready to separate the Air Force this May after nearly eight years of active duty service. I have spent the last four years working in a multi-cultural environment for the 18th Wing Public Affairs Office in Okinawa, Japan, which has been lauded as the best large PA office in the Pacific Air Force.

Over the last three years I have specialized international community and media relations where it has been my job to facilitate all local and international community and media engagements, perform crisis communications, write communication strategies, manage all social media platforms, answer queries from news and international government agencies, and provide counsel to senior leaders.

Prior to community and media relations I spent a year managing the office's print/digital news section, which had a staff of nine junior photojournalists. In addition to managing and training junior staff members, it was my responsibility to manage the organization's website, develop weekly media plans, provide production updates to senior leaders, ensure all publishing timelines where meet, products were quality controlled, and optimal customer service was provided to clients.

I graduated from Western Illinois University with a B.S. in Graphic Communications. I also hold an A.A.S. in Public Relations from the Community College of the Air Force, and I am currently completing my M.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications at Eastern Michigan University.
