About David

I am an IT professional with 40 years of progressive experience in the field across a variety of industries including financial services, software, media, government, marketing and philanthropy.

I have been the CTO at the Ford Foundation for five years - enjoying my dream job of leading a great team of technology professionals in a progressive organization fighting against global inequality and injustice. Prior to joining the foundation, I was CIO of The Carlyle Group for 11 years. Previously, I was SVP of IS at Discovery Communications.

I am currently a mentor for young IT professionals through TAG, an organization of foundations focused on sharing best practices and developing the IT functions within member organizations.

I received my BA with Honors in Economics and History from the State University of New York at Binghamton.

My wife and I moved to NYC five years ago after having lived in the Washington, DC, area for 35 years. I am the proud father of three great kids and one wonderful Golden Retriever.
