About Stephen

First, Thank You, for your consideration and time. USN 1978-1981. I attended AE school, A-7 squadron VA-147 US Navy Aviation Electrician, Maintenance Control Dept., Corrosion Control Tech and was Honorably Discharged. I worked for Grumman Aerospace Corp. N.Y., Grumman St. Augustine FL., Avionics Installation. I am not a technically proficient trouble shooter as an electrician but I am mechanically inclined and can read blue prints and work orders for different stations of assembly and test on a number of production aircraft for Grumman, etc. I was laid off twice in the 80's due to lack of available work. As the largest employer of people in L.I. N.Y., Grumman had to lay off thousands then. I relocated to FL. I installed all the cockpit instrumentation for over thirty plus Douglas A-4 Skyhawks and one 2 seat trainer along with numerous other production line work. Grumman lost new contract opportunities and I was laid off again. I worked for the largest commercial airline food service equipment company as a shipping and receiving and assembly inspector on all phases of steel and aluminum fabrication. That industry has declined, and again, I was laid off.
I moved back to the sun coast, Sarasota County area of Florida, where I had grown up as a teen. I cared for my senior parents till there passing while working in retail sales (clerk- stock), where I gained some good, practical marketing and sales skills. Next, I had a daughter, I raised her myself till she was eighteen. I had been working as a mechanic and sales for the local bike shop then I started a small detail business while supplementing my work at local golf course (grounds maintenance), I was slow in off season summers so, I also started a lawn service. I have raised my daughter while doing this business for over 21 years. I started college, now 57 years young, I must work smarter not harder. I finished College Algebra, Statistics, Micro and Macro Economics as well as Financial Accounting and I am at 48 credit hours maintaining a 3.0 or higher, grade point average. I have read some good books about importing and exporting and it makes sense, (lots of paper work and regulation), John Spiers “How Small Business Trades Worldwide”. I am searching to do something in international business and trade, something that would be mutually beneficial for myself as well as my community or world community.
I’ve read the best seller “Rich Dad Poor Dad” and just finished reading this book "How the Poor can save Capitalism" by John Hope Bryant and next I will read "How To Change the World social entrepreneurs and the power of new ideas" David Bornstein. I am looking for some practical, and implementable options, I believe making the right connection can make all the difference. I am conscientious, considerate, reflective, capable, intelligent, intuitive, and ambitious with a maturity of life experience I am seeking to contribute to society in a way that grows the economy and provides for my family’s future, as well as helping others find success in their lives. My interests include but, are not limited to: International Business and Trade, Social entrepreneurial ventures, as well as social media, along with non-profit entities, and my hobbies are Table Tennis, and Vinyl Record Collecting.
Thanks for your time.
P.S. I must choose only one career category but, my objective is a bit more widely diversified.
