About Garrett
I enlisted in the Air Force in 2006 and served on active duty until 2010. Initially, I came in to be a videographer, until the career field was merged with broadcasting. I then fulfilled both requirements throughout my enlistment. During my time I also became proficient in journalism, graphic design, and community outreach.
After my active duty commitment was complete I stepped out to finish college. I received my undergrad in business management and sought a commission on the USMC but due to an admin error I wasn't able to pursue that.
In 2016, I received my master's degree in communications. I focused on journalism, creative writing, graphic design, screenwriting, multimedia, and film-making. My hope was to be able to pursue a career in many of those fields.
I reenlisted in the US Air Force Reserve in 2016 and now work in public affairs as a journalist.
For my civilian job, I'm a senior network engineer for the US Navy and have held that position for 8 years. I also own my own business publishing comic books.
