I’m a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) specializing in Tax. I have my Bachelor’s in Accounting and Master’s in Taxation. I’ve worked in Tax in the DFW area for 15 years.
The biggest myth about accounting is that you need to be a math genius. I am not! Accounting is basic math/algebra. Attention to detail and analytical skills are very important. There are many different type of job opportunities within the accounting field.
My Dad – an Army Vietnam Veteran (Purple Heart) – was also a CPA. I like to say being an accountant is in my blood.
