About Anthony

Mr. Sanger is a Vice President and Technical Director in AECOM’s Global Program Management Group.

His current assignment is as AECOM's Business Unit Leader (PM/CM) for Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina

This assignment is the operational leader responsible for the P&L of the business unit performance within the area. Specifically responsible for:
· Day-to-day operational management of the business unit
· Ensuring a strong focus on clients, a commitment to excellence and innovation, a healthy work environment and a strong engagement of employees
· Developing teaming relationships for major pursuits
· Providing leadership to market segment staff for pursuits and client development

Based out of AECOM’s Atlanta Office, Mr. Sanger brings 28 years of experience in the management of mega programs throughout the world. Over his career, Mr. Sanger has personally served in senior program leadership positions on large programs with a total CapEx value of more than $30 billion. He has served in many senior leadership roles on these programs including Program Director; Deputy Director, Design & Construction; Deputy Director, Operations; and Program Controls Manager as well as in a claims advisory and management role on many programs.

Mr. Sanger is well versed in and has had primary (P&L) responsibility for the financial and budgetary controls on many large and mega programs throughout his career. This experience has occurred as a consultant, an Owner and as a general contractor. The skills developed as a mediator and a claims consultant have enhanced these financial skills and allowed Mr. Sanger to deliver many programs ahead of schedule and under budget through proactive management.

Anthony began his career working for a large general civil / industrial contractor on large, complex mass civil and transportation projects. Throughout his career, he has worked on every aspect of a modern program: contractor, sub-contractor, designer, construction manager, program manager, claims consultant and owner.

As Technical Director of AECOM Global Program Management, Anthony has furthered the integration and sharing of lessons learned from AECOM’s mega-programs and has driven the creation, adoption and refinement of a singular “AECOM Way” for the delivery of Program Management globally. He has successfully developed and implemented the AECOM “FastStart” team concept which involves rapid deployment of senior level management teams to launch large programs and deliver a conformed suite of management plans and tools on many large multi-billion dollar programs.

He was the principal author of AECOM’s global standard Program Management Plan and Program Procedure Manuals. These plans are utilized to rapidly launch AECOM’s programs around the world. These plans are in template form and represent the collective knowledge and global best practices of AECOM. These standards allow Anthony’s teams to efficiently create customized management documents for each program. His teams have developed Procedure Manuals for:

• Document Control

• Risk Management
• Design / Construction Change Management
• Health and Safety
• Procurement and Contract Administration
• Communications
• Quality Management
• Project Close-out and Commissioning

In addition, having led the majority of its development, Anthony is an expert in the content and functional aspects of AECOM’s customized, web-based Program Management Information Systems (PMIS).
