Franchising As An Option for Veterans: Is it time to learn about becoming your own Commanding Officer?

Whether or not you’ve ever wanted to be your own boss or become an entrepreneur, you might want to give franchising a closer look in parallel with job search to give you more options:

  1. Franchising can cost less than what a new car costs today and there are special financial incentives for Veterans. You get access to a proven business model and receive training and ongoing support with a franchise. Veterans are very attractive candidates with many franchisors offering financial incentives from 5%-20% discounts on franchise fees. Leverage the government’s money to fund the business with Special Vet Fran Military funding available through SBA for up to $150k to pay yourself a salary during ramp up.

  2. Your military experience makes you an ideal candidate for franchise ownership. Success in franchising is all about following a system and staying focused on achieving results. Franchise companies know that veterans are able to following proven procedures and that you are disciplined, mission focused, self-confident and resourceful.

  3. There are a large number of industries and business models available through franchising. Franchising is more than fast food and auto repair. There are over 4,000 franchises in more than 85 industries; both business-to-business and business-to-consumer opportunities. Many are operated from a home office, avoiding the expense of a storefront. Some can be operated on a part time or semi-absentee basis, allowing you to maintain a traditional job while building your business. A wide variety of options are available for operations, management or sales-driven individuals in a wide variety of backgrounds.
