Do Certifications Help Me Find a Job?

Education & Training

In my experience, certifications can be very beneficial to allow employers to better understand your expertise beyond tradition military service. Certifications can be definitive discriminators in the market, demonstrating your immediate value-add to the organization.

One such certification I pursued was through the DRI Foundation, which is committed to helping veterans succeed. The DRI Foundation has created the Veterans Outreach Program (VOP) to help veterans realize their dreams and achieve great success as they transition into the professions of emergency response, crisis management, business continuity and disaster recovery.

Leveraging the training and experience veteran's already possess as a result of their military experience, this field can be a comfortable transition for some. The VOP scholarship will include, at no cost to qualified veteran’s, admission to DRI educational course BCLE 2000 (Business Continuity), all course materials, qualifying examination, and all applicable application fees.
